Deck Sealants & Coatings
Deck sealant covers two different jobs. Sealing a joint against water, which every deck needs, and coating a surface against weather, which depends entirely on what that surface is.
Do not coat capped composite. Trex and TimberTech both state that applying paint, stain or other coating materials voids the warranty on the boards, and those warranties run for decades. Wood needs a finish. Capped composite does not, and punishes one.
