Trex Hidden Fasteners
Trex hidden fasteners sit in the groove between two boards and screw down into the joist, so the finished surface carries no visible screw at all. They also self-gap, which sets the board spacing for you.
They need grooved edge boards. That is the whole compatibility rule. Square edge boards cannot take a clip in the field, though a groove cutter bit lets you cut your own groove if you already have square edge stock.
Two things people forget: the first and last board have no groove on the outer side and need starter clips, and packs are sold by square-foot coverage, so buy against deck area. Roughly two clips per square foot. Call (815) 439-3325.
