Trex rail infills are the parts that sit between the top and bottom rail and hold whatever fills the gap at the correct spacing.
Why spacers exist. The IRC model limit is no opening passing a 4" sphere, and many states tighten it. Spacers hold that without anyone measuring on site, and they stop balusters drifting or rattling. Get them wrong and the run can fail inspection even though every part is genuine.
