FastenMaster Collated Cortex for Trex Decking - 100 Linear Feet provides a quick and efficient solution for concealing fasteners and screw heads when installing Trex Deck Boards, now with a 50% increase in installation speed. The Cortex plugs are organized on a collated strip, reducing handling and saving valuable time on the job site. This fastener delivers high levels of holding power and conceals fasteners across the entire deck, including first and last boards, breaker boards, perimeter, and stairs. The TORX ttap Drive System minimizes the risk of stripping, and the fasteners are easily removable. The stability button ensures the fastener remains straight throughout the installation process.

The industrial-grade setting tool allows you to install up to 350 fasteners with a single Cortex setting tool. The Cortex system is user-friendly and includes everything you need: screws, plugs, and setting tools.

FastenMaster recommends using an 18-volt cordless drill for installation. Impact drivers are not recommended for composite deck boards, whether they have a capstock or not.

Note: Pre-drilling is generally unnecessary for most of the project. However, it is required when fastening within 1/2" of the board's end and at mitered joints. Use a 3/16" drill bit for pre-drilled pilot holes.
